That’s pretty awesome. Season 1 was stellar. It’s up for Best Drama, Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Bob Odenkirk) and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Jonathan Banks).
Who would’ve thought Odenkirk would someday be nominated as best dramatic actor? And Jonathan Banks just blew it out of the water in his spotlight episode, Five-O.
I hope it wins at least one of these awards. It deserves it, but it is up against Game of Thrones, Mad Men, House of Cards, and OitNB. But again, three noms including Best Drama for a show’s first season? A spin-off at that? That’s pretty admirable.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t both of their roles supposed to be much smaller in Breaking Bad, but they brought them back on full because of how much fans liked them?
Either way, we’re getting some really good TV lately and it makes me quite happy.

I believe you’re right. In fact, Mike wasn’t even supposed to be on Breaking Bad . His character was created when Odenkirk was unavailable to shoot an episode (Phoenix, I believe, the penultimate episode of S2), as Saul’s cleaner.
Saul’s role may have intended to be smaller, as they weren’t sure that the show would continue after Gus Fring’s arc. But, the show was renewed, and there was more need for Saul.

I haven’t watched Better Call Saul yet. I just started watching Breaking Bad this week, I’m on Season 2, Episode 2. Tuco had just kidnapped Jesse and Walt. So far, I’m loving Breaking Bad. When does Saul’s character come into play in Breaking Bad?
On another note, I find it kind of amusing that the drama game is so weak from the major networks. Two from AMC, one from HBO, and two from Netflix? Whoever thought that would happen even 5 years ago?

Better Call Saul was just beautifully, beautifully done. Those guys are really at the top of their game.

That is amusing. And BB only gets better from there. I believe it’s S2E8 that Saul is introduced. (It’s the episode aptly titled Better Call Saul )‘
But yes, it only gets better. Avoid spoilers if at all possible. In my opinion, season 4 is the best. Both parts of Season 5 are awesome, and the last three episodes of the series are far and away some of the best TV you will ever watch.

Yeah, I am definitely trying to avoid any spoilers. Thankfully the show is a couple of years old at this point so I shouldn't run into them too easily, unless I go looking for them.
